Here’s what others are saying:

Great teacher, equipment and location”

My wife and I spent a half day learning how to climb and abseil with Justin and enjoyed it immensely.  He has set up some great climbs in the Little Karoo, a 20min or so walk from Montagu.  All equipment is provided and is of a very high standard whilst Justin has a great knack at keeping you relaxed throughout the climbs.  Highly recommended and there are some great photo opportunities!

Fantastic morning with a great teacher”

My husband and I had a great morning learning to climb with Justin. He was a very friendly and patient teacher, I am a complete beginner and got scared half way up and had to come down in tears! Justin was so nice and somehow encouraged me to try again and I got all the way to the top and loved it! Montagu is a brilliant place to climb and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks for a great trip and spectacular climbing.I really enjoyed the 2 days climbing with you. It makes all the difference being out there with someone who is interesting, and knowledgeable. I hope to make another trip there soon.

You don’t have to be the world’s best climber to enjoy scaling Montagu’s rock faces. You don’t need to have climbed at all. There are as many beginner-level options as there are scarily insane ones, and there are two very experienced local climbers, Justin and Riki Lawson, who can show you the ropes.

Thank you for a great experience and some excellent pics to remember it by. I never expected to be rock climbing at 65 years old !

It was time to rock climb on Monday morning and our guide, Justin, picked us up right after breakfast. He drove us the quick 5 minutes to his house to get our shoes and harnesses and then we walked to the area to rock climbing. The area was beautiful up on a hillside so we could overlook the town and also the mountains. Justin put up the first route, but after figuring out that we knew what we were doing he let me lead the rest of them! It was great climbing – long routes and a variety of moves. The last route of the day was Moby Dick (5.10b). Moby was a bulge ¾ of the way up that you had to climb around in the most awkward moves ever! I lead it clean, which I was stoked about because I haven’t climbed since May! We both enjoyed every minute of climbing and really enjoyed getting to know Justin who has also climbed all over the world including Smith Rocks in Oregon!

We were all on such a lovely high after our climbing experience with you and thank you so much for your instruction. It is rare to be able to share an adventure with such a wide age group of adults and kids (12 to 50!) and to find someone who can anticipate the needs of all so well. We felt very fortunate to have found you as our instructor and hope to repeat the experience again soon. Everyone enjoyed the morning. What a lovely “uplifting” 🙂 experience!
